Midsummer Dreams

As we head into midsummer weekend celebrated all over Scandinavia, I thought I would share some traditional and festive images of summer houses loved by so many scandinavians.

Midsummer's eve celebrations in scandinavia date back to ancient times as a festival of the summer solstice and has become one of the biggest festivals in the calendar.

Many scandinavians leave the cities to retreat to summer cottages by the sea and many lakes. Celebration rituals include bonfires, cookouts, sauna and spending time together with family and friends.

Have a wonderful midsummer wherever you might be and sending all my love to my dear family and friends in Finland. Make it a fabulous one!

Hauskaa juhannusta!!!
