Serpentine Summer Pavilion
2015
A much anticipated London summer landmark has again opened to public.
The Serpentine Summer Pavilion celebrates it's 15th anniversary this summer and the contemporary structure has been designed by Spanish architects Selgascano.
This irregular 'chrysalis' like double layered structure, made out of opaque and translucent fluorine based plastic in a range of colours, can be entered into from various different points. It will immerse the viewer through a specific journey highlighting elements such as shadows, change, surprise, transparency and light.
At the heart of the structure you will find an open space for gathering, relaxing and perhaps to just taking in a moment to observe the interaction between the structure and it's surroundings and ever changing play of light and shadows.
Below you will find a range of gorgeous images that I took on a sunny Saturday whilst visiting.
Enjoy!
