Rattan Revival
I found myself in Paris at the weekend for some spring inspiration and, of course, who can resist a little retail therapy when in the city of chic style. Popping into a favourite haunt of mine, Merci, a fantastic concept store in the hard of trendy Le Marais, I was pleasantly surprised by a corner of all things rattan.

Rattan takes me back to my childhood as in our family home my mother chose Cesca chairs designed by Marcel Breuer, for Knoll, for the dining room.
Not forgetting the iconic Coffee House Chair by Michael Thonet which was also creatively designed with a rattan seat.

Rattan has been in and out of fashion with the design crowd for many years, sometimes even thought of as tasteless but is yet again gaining popularity through it's versatility.
It can add interest and texture to any space if design is cleverly thought through. It can look great mixed with the minimalist scandi look and it can really bring on the retro vibe for vintage lovers.

Rattan has also in recent years become one of the favourites in garden spaces and varied wicker accessories can be a stylish alternative when dressing your home.
